Dominion Conference By Telegraph.—Press Association. ‘ . Timaru, June 12. The annual conference of the Dominion branch of the League of Nations Unions concluded to-night. The whole day was spent discussing remits, the majority of which related to operations of the union throughout the Dominion. The more important remits carried were: — “That the Government of New Zealand be again urged to carry out the duties undertaken by the signatories to the Treaty of Versailles, namely,, to lay before the appropriate legislative authority all the conventions of the international labour organisation.” . “That, in view of the strengthening of the securities of peace as evidenced in the increasing effectiveness of the league, the almost universal signatured of the Paris Pact, and the success of the London Naval Conference in relation to the Pacific area, the New Zealand Government would be justified'in reconsidering past decisions in reference to the Singapore base.” The conference decided that the executive be located in Wellington. The Rev. Dr. J. Gibb was unanimously re-elected president. _ It was decided that the next conference be held .in Wellington. The conference discussed the question of the abolition of compulsory . military training, a remit urging abolition being carried by 21 votes to 8.
