AGAIN UNWORKABLE The Union Company advise that the Kahika and Poolta, loading for Wellington, the Kaimai, for New Plymouth and Wellington, and the Kanna, for Auckland, were still bar-bound at Greymouth yesterday. It is now hoped that they will clear the bar on this morning’s tide. DALFRAM FOR AUCKLAND.' Advice from Auckland reports that the steamer Dalfram, en route from Cuba to Auckland, cleared Balboa on Suuday. She is expected to reach Auckland on July 5. POLZELLA LEAVES BALBOA. Advice has been received that the steamer Polzella, en route from Cuba to Auckland with a cargo of raw sugar, cleared Balboa on May 30. She is due at Auckland about June 27. PORT ADELAIDE SAILS. Having, completed her loading, the C. and D. Line steamer Port Adelaide left Wellington at 7.40 p.m. yesterday for London, via Cape Horn. MAKURA LEAVES SAN FRANCISCO. Cabled advice has been received by the Union Company that the Makura left Sau Francisco at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday for Papeete, Rarotonga, Wellington, and Sydney. She is due here on June 30, and will leave again the following afternoon for Sydney. ANTONIA LEAVES WESTPORT. The steamer Antonia, having bunkered at Westport, left there on Wednesday for Nauru Island and/or Ocean Island, to load a cargo of phosphates for New Zealand or Australia. AUCKLAND SERVICE. The Katoa, from Auckland, is due here on Sunday, and will leave on Monday for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Timaru. The Wingatui, from Dunedin, via ports, is now due here to-morrow, and goes on to Auckland. The Waipiataa from Bluff, via ports, is due here about next Wednesday, and goes on to Auckland. PORT HUON ARRIVES. To complete her homeward loading, the C. and D. Line mo.tor ship Port Huon arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Lyttelton, and berthed at the Plpitea Wharf. She is scheduled to sail finally from here to-morrow for London, via the Panama Canal. RANGITANE AT AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor-liner Rangitane arrived at Auckland at 5.30 a.m. yesterday from London and Southampton. She is expected to leave the northern port on Monday for Wellington to complete discharge, and is due here next Wednesday morning. ■ RANGITATA DELAYED. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the loading of their motor liner Rangitata at Lyttelton has been delayed, and she is now due at Wellington on Tuesday to fill up. She is scheduled to sail finally from this port on June 21’ for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal. COPTIC SAILS. /' The Shaw-Savill motor ship Coptic was dispatched from Wellington at 7.20 a.m. yesterday for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow, via the Panama Canal. WEIRBANK REPORTS. A wireless message has been received from the Bank Line motor ship Weirbank, reporting that she expects to reach Auckland to-morrow from Chile. She brings a large cargo of nitrates for discharge at Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Fremantle. RIMUTAKA TO BE SCRAPPED. ' The New Zealand Shipping Company’s old liner Rlmutaka, which was sold recently, Is to be broken up. She was bought for that purpose by T. W. Ward, Ltd., for £14,000. PACIFIC COAST LOADINGS. Forward loadings at Pacific Coast ports by Union Company steamers are approximately as follow:— The Waiotapu will load during July for Auckland, Wellington, and Australia. She Is to clear Los Angeles on July 23, and is due at Auckland on August 17. The Waikawa will load during July for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth, and possibly Bluff. She is ‘to clear Los Angeles on July ’3l, and is due at Napier on August 25. The Wairuna will load during August for Auckland, Wellington, and Australia. She is to clear Los Angeles on August 21 and Is due at Auckland on September 15. VANCOUVER MAIL SERVICE. The Aorangi, from Vancouver, via Honolulu, arrived at Suva at 10.30 a.m. yesterday and sailed again at 2.30 p.m. the same day for Auckland, where she is due on Sunday afternoon. She will leave Auckland again at 4 p.m. on Monday for Sydney, where she is due on June 20. The Niagara, from Sydney, via Auckland and Suva, is due at Honolulu this morning and sails again to-day for Vancouver, where she is due on June 20. ISLANDS SERVICES. The Tofua leaves Auckland at 11 a.m. to-morrow for Suva, thence Nukualofa, Haapal, Vavau, Niue, and Apia. The Moerakk from Suva, is due at Sydney on Monday.. The Waipahi, from Rarotonga, is due at Auckland on Monday morning. The Tees, from the Chatham Islands, via Lyttelton, is due here on Sunday, and will leave on Monday for Westport and Greymouth. MARINE EXAMINATIONS. The following are the May results of the examinations held by the Marine Department:— Mr. D. Burgess gained his master’s certificate, steam (ord.). Mr. R. H. Magnusson gained his secondclass engineer’s certificate, steam. Messrs. It. R. Sanders, H. J. R. Armiger, J. S. McAlpine, and L. P. Cole gained their third-class engineers’ certificates, steam. Mr. D. E. Barwell gained his river engineer’s certificate, steam. Messrs. R. H. Jones, W. K. Dunnage, F. N. Hunt, T. A. L. Kelly, R. E. Smith, and W. R. Horn gained their first-class engineers’ certificates, oil. Mr. R. G. Blanc was successful in gaining his second-class engineer's certificate, oil. The following are some of the results to hand in the June examinations:— Mr. H. Ruegg gained his master’s certificate, steam. Mr. R. H. Lane was successful in gaining his first-class engineer’s certificate, oil. Mr. A. G. Ross gained his second-class engineer's certificate, oil. A Messrs. J. W. Burn and T. L. MacQuarie were successful in gaining their river engineers’ certificates, oil.

OTOKIA ARRIVES. The Union Company’s tanker Otokla, with a full cargo of fuel oil from San Pedro, arrived in the stream at Wellington at 9 o’clock last night. She will berth this morning at the Miramar Wharf to discharge her bulk oil Into the company's tanks. MISCELLANEOUS. The Regulus is due here to-morrow from Wanganui, and will go on the Patent Slip for cleaning and painting. She Is to coms off on Monday, and will leave on Tuesday for Westport and Greymouth. . , The Opihi left Wellington last night for Dunedin, where she will load, via po r t*» for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. From southern ports, the Wainul is now due here to-morrow, and goes on to Napier and Gisborne. The Karetu left Melbourne at 4 p.m. on Wednesday for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington.
