EMPIRE GAMES

Swimmer Unavailable By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, June 11. The action of L. J. Moorhouse, who was selected to represent New Zealand at the Empire Games in Canada, in stating at the last minute that he would not be available, was criticised by delegates to the Canterbury centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association last evening. Several delegates said that Moorhouse’s action had created considerable awkwardness, and the centre should have an explanation. It was resolved that Moorhouse should be written to asking him to explain in writing.
