OFFER OF SERVICE WITHOUT REWARD
Sir, —I have a family of sixty young men who are very keen on performing some small act of kindness to many of those unfortunate women who have no man about the place to gather and chop a few sticks of wood for these cold winter nights—young fellows from t eighteen years pf age onwards desirous of rendering some service to those mothers we owe such a lot. These lads are active and energetic, yet seeking that one job where they know it will be of some comfort to others—seeking no reward or praise, but willing to give of their time for a few. hours weekly during the cold winter months. No doubt many of -your readers know of homes where one could do some of the odd Jobs, homes where no man is available, We would appreciate your assistance in bringing these few line's before the notice of your readers, and await the result, trusting that all who read this will drop a card to 8 Humber Street, Island Bay.—l am, etc, CLARRIE MEACHEN, . . . Rover Leader, M "■ • Ist Wellington City Rovers. P.S.—lt is of course understood that any work performed is . free of charge, and without obligation on the part of the receivers.
