SIR WILLIAM ALLARDYCE (Rec. June 10, 7 p.m.) London, June 10. Sir William Allardyce, formerly in the Colonial Office service in the Pad-, fic Islands and Governor of Tasmania and other colonies, is dead. He was 69 years of age. SIR HERBERT WARREN ———— 4 London, June 9. The death has occurred of Sir Herbert Warren, president of Magdalen College, Oxford, from 1885 to 1928, at the age of 77 years. During his presidency of the college he superintended the education of the Prince of Wales, Prince Chicibu, and the late Prince Christian Victor. He was a distinguished classical scholar and his edition of Plato's “Republic” has been many times reprinted. ST. JOHN ADCOCK London, June 9. The death is announced of Mr. Arthur St. John Adcock, the editor of “The Bookman,” at the ago of 66. [Arthur St. John Adcock abandoned law for literature in 1893, and since then wrote many novels and short stories, besides taking an active part in current journalism.]
