Vice-Regal. His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Biedisloe, left by the Limited express last evening on their first official visit to Auckland. They will return to Wellington on Thursday morning. The Hon. W. A. Veitch (Minister of Labour) will return to Welliugton tomorrow from Stratford. The Hon. H. Atmore (Minister of Education) returned to Wellington yesterday from Nelson. The Hon. P. A. de la. Perrelle (Minister of Internal Affairs) returned to Wellington yesterday from the West Coast. , Mr. J. W. Collins (New Zealand Trade Commissioner to Canada) is expected to return to Wellington to-mor-row from the south. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy (Minister of Health) returned to Wellington yesterday from Auckland. He will leave to-day for the Bay of Islands district.

Mr. Justice Kennedy left last night to preside at the session of the Supreme Court in Nelson. Mr. M. Dennehy (Assistant-General Manager of Railways) has returned to Wellington from the north. Mr. J. Moffitt was last night elected president of the Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association. Mr. Moffitt is, by length of service, the oldest active referee in the association.

Mr. R. Horton de Pine, law clerk, of Napier, was yesterday admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) on the motion of Mr. G. G. Commissioner J. Cunningham, of the Salvation Army, returned to Wellington yesterday from the West Coast. He went via Christchurch, visiting Greymouth, Westport and other West Coast towns, coming back via Nelson. Lieutenant Smith, a member of the Byrd Expedition, was the honoured guest of the Wellington Bowling Club last evening. Bowlers to the number of about sixty were introduced to the visitor, who, in response to the toast, of his health, gave a very interesting sketch of life in the Antarctic as the members"of the expedition found U.
