DOG BANNED FROM TOWN

DEATH SENTENCE ALTERNATIVE. Skegness magistrates recently passed sentence of death ou an Alsatian dog, but agreed that the execution need not be carried out so long as the dog was kept, out of Skegness. Evidence showed that tlie f nniniul attacked a six-year-old girl while she was walking in a public park with her four-year-old brother and their governess. The badly-torn clothes -of the child were produced in court. Even after policemen and others hud shouted and chased off the dog, it followed the children for over a mile. Marjorie Hall, the owner, a wellknown local tennis player, expressed sorrow, but said she did not think the dog should be destroyed for one incident only. She had sent the animal away to London. She was ordered to pay £3/6/- costs.
