WELLINGTON BODY’S REPORT The report of the Wellington Football Association to be submitted at the annual meeting next Wednesday states that the body is on a foundation rivalling that of any other football association in New Zealand. Regret is expressed that expectations were not reached in the first divisions last season, but an improvement was recorded in the lower grades. The shortage of grounds is the subject _of comment in the report, and appreciation is expressed of the facilities made available on eity and suburban reserves. It is pointed out that the secondary schools’ tournament will be held in Wellington in the coming season. Receipts from the Basin Reserve last season were £l6O less than in 1928, but the loss is offset to some extent by increases on other grounds, and in the aggregate the deficiency in receipts from grounds as compared with the previous year is £75. During the year special matches provided £3O for the Earthquake. Relief Fund and £3O for the. funds of the' New Zealand Football Association. The Webster Shield was won by Wellington in the competition of the Public Schools Football Association, with Waikato second. The financial statement shows receipts amounting to £1370 last season, and a credit balance of £62.
