TARIFF TRUCE
OPPOSED BY FRANCE CONFERENCE DISCUSSION Geneva, March 9. At a plenary session of the Tariff Truce Conference, M. Flandin, the French Minister of Commerce, rejected the British proposal for a tariff truce and proposed that France, Germany, p d Belgium continue their existing commercial treaties until April, 1931. In the meanwhile, countries hot possessing commercial treaties should not' impose new duties and not increase existing ones. He added that French opinion believed that all States should abandon indirect protection and suppress dumping and export bounties. TJie proposals were referred to the Committee.
