FIRE AT NGAIO
GROCER’S SHOP .GUTTED. <> J ’ - T - Practically nothing was saved from a lire which broke out in Jennings’s grocery store at the corner of Awarua Street and Main Road, Ngaio. on Sunday morning. The shop, which was built of wood, contained two rooms, one of them being used as a storeroom. The owner and occupier was Mr. Ernest J. T. Owing to the fact that the lire brigade was not summoned for some time, the fire had got a good hold, and the back portion had been completely burned, by the time the machines arrived. The building was completely gutted and parts IC The building ami the contents were insured in the Royal Office, but the actual amounts are not. yet available. The cause of the fixe ii not known.
