CHURCH CONFERENCE NEAR DANNEVIRKE.

forty-sixth annual conference (Hui Tau) of the Church of Jesus Christ or Latter-day Saints will be held at Tahoraiti, Dannevirke, from March 14 to 1< inclusive. Elaborate programmes are being prepared in commemoration of the event. The auxiliary organisations, Sunday School, Primary, and Mutual Improvement Associations are in charge of several meetings. Certain stages of church history and development will be depicted in pageants and nlavs. On Sunday evening a "programme will be presented by the Mutual Improvement Association, which has for its 1930 slogan: “We stand for the preservation of nur heritage through obedience to law.” Special recreative activities will be conducted on Friday and Saturday evenings by leaders of the group. The missionary personnel of the church, including about forty-five young men from America, will be present. This gathering will be of special interest to the Maori people because of the presence of John E. Magleby, of Salt Lake City, president of the New Zealand Mission, who has spent ten years of,petive service among them. Preparations are being made for 1500 to 2000 people.
