MAGISTRATE’S COURT
MAINTENANCE CASES.
Maintenance cases were dealt with by Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. A sentence of one month’s imprisonment was imposed on Ernest Pearce lor being in arrears on an order made iu respect of his wife’s maintenance. He is to be released on payment of £5/11/-, and solicitor’s fee, £l/1/0. John George O’Neill was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for being iu arrears on an order for the maintenance of his wife. He is to be released on payment of £3. Bertha Fitzwilliams was sentenced to one week’s imprisonment for being 17/6 <in arrears on an order for her mother’s maintenance. She is to be released on payment of the amount, owing. “This man always pays on warrant, but not before,” said the Maintenance Officer (Mr. J. H. Pearson) iu reference to Cyril Vincent Fifield, who was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for being £l2 in arrears on an order for the support of his two children. He is to be released on payment of the amount owing. ■ . John Harding was sentenced to one month’s,imprisonment for being £u/10/in arrears on an order fo’r his child s maintenance. The warrant is to be suspended so long as 15/- is paid each week.
