COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS’ CHOIR

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. The Wellington Commercial Travellers’ Male Voice Choir held its annual general meeting on Friday evening, about 40 members being present. The chair was occupied by Mr. Hugh Wright. In his report, the secretary (Mr. E. M. Pankhurst) stated that during the course of the year a visit was paid to the Ewart Hospital. Tlie choir assisted at the Anzac Night concert, and also at a performance in aid of the earthquake relief fund. On June 4, a concert was given at Khandallah in aid of the Red Cross Society. In July a week-end visit was made to the Wairarapa, when a concert was given in Masterton. at which the suni of £45 was rais&l for the Rotary Club’s “Sunshine Fund,” and on the following: day, Martinborough was visited, £l5 being collected for the local Plunket Society. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. Hugh Wright; vice-president, Mr. H. G. Mayer; conductor, Mr. John Bishop; deputy-conductor, Mr. F. W. Laycock; honorary pianist, Mr. W. A. Gatheridgc; honorary secretary, Mr. E. M. Pankhurst; honorary treasurer, Mr. M. S. Galloway ; honorary librarian, Mr. R. S. Wilson; honorary auditor, Mr. G. Morpeth; committee, Messrs. IV. B. Browne, R. Dellow, E. Pegg, F. Laycock, and R. E. Flaus.
