SUPPRESSING ORGANISED CRIME (Rec. February 6, 8.5 p.m.) Washington, February 6. President Hoover lias announced that “at my urgent request” MajorGeneral Crosby, of the United States Army, beginning on March 21, will assume command of the police and allied services in the districts of Columbia, as “a guarantee to official and unofficial residents, and to the nation at large, that the capital of the nation will be free of organised crime.”
