INDIAN BROADCASTING A FAILURE
COMPANY IN LIQUIDATION (Rec. February 2, 5.5 ’p.m.) Delhi, February 1. The Indian Broadcasting Company Is going into voluntary liquidation at the end of February. During the past three years the company has spent five lakhs of rupees in excess of its income, in addition to the capital on laid-out plant. The failure is attributed to the. refusal of listeners to take out licenses and the difficulty in arranging programmes to suit both Europeans and Indians, and the Interference atmospherics caused in wireless reception. [At the present rate of exchange, five lakhs of rupees would be equal to nearly £40,000.]
