HEJAZ AND NEJD
FIRST BRITISH MINISTER (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. February 1, 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, January 31. Mr. Andrew Ryan, whose appointment to be first British.' Minister accredited to the Kingdom of Hejaz and Nejd has been announced, has been Consul-General at Rabat, French Morocco, for the last six years, and previously held posts it the British Embassy at Constantinople. He was in the British delegation at the Near East Conference at Lausanne eight years ago. Ibn Saud Wahabi, ruler and Sultan of Nejd, conduered Hejaz in 1925. He proclaimed himself Sultan of Nejd and King of Hejaz and in May, 1927, Great Britah recognised the independence of his Dominions by Treaty. I
