CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA TEN CLUBS COMPETE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, February 1Ten rowing clubs competed in the Christchurch Regatta, at Kairaki to-day. The weather was Hue and conditions excellent for rowing. Results are as follow: — ~ /Trr Youths’ Single Sculls. —Akaroa (W. W Reid) and Union (G. Toner), deadbeat, 1. Also started: Avon (H. Warlow). . Senior Double Sculls. —Union (W. Whittington, W. Greenway), 1; Canterbury (T. H. Brown, F. C. Godfrey), 2. Also started: Avon. .Won by half a length. Maiden Fours.-—Star (T. Bell, Cromie, S. Tansley, M. Player), 1; Akaroa, 2; Canterbury, 3. Eight started. Won by a length. ' Youths’ Double Sculls.—Avon (A. Andrews. H. Warlow), 1; Canterbury (S, Cox, G. East), 2; Union, 3. Seven started. AJ’on by three lengths, a similar distance between second and third, i Senior Fours. —Star (G. Cooke, F. Mullins, H. Thomas, P. Field), 1; Union (F. Rogers, K. Brown, W. Whittington, W. Greenway), 2; Canterbury, 3. Placed boats only starters. Won by two lengths, a similar distance between second and third. Junior Double Sculls. —rCanterbury (A. Rogers, E. Hill), 1; Petone (W. Kennedy. G. Gimblett), 2 ; Star, 3. Six started. Won by three lengths, half a length between second and third. Youths’ Fours.—Canterbury (G. East, S. Cox, R. Hampton, J. Smith), 1; Avon, 2; Lyttelton. 3. Nine started. Won by half n length, a length between second and third. Maiden Double Sculls.—Star (R. Comerford, R. Moffat), 1; Canterbury, 2; Avon, 3.
