FEILDING NOTES
Feilding, January 31. One Instance of the benefits of topdressing. added to the favourable season for pastures,-'is given in the experience of a Kiwitea farmer who is at present grazing one bullock and three grown sheep to the acre, and still has grass to spare. Cattle are in demand-in the district, and current rates are satisfactory to vendors. At the annual meeting of the Feilding Pipe Band, the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr, J. G. Eliott; president. Mr. G. A. Fi*ig; secretary, Mr. 8, Roke.; pipe major, Mr.'E. H, Pike: drum major, Mr. Harry Hope: committee, Messrs. Fiebig, A. E. Matheson, 8. Hewitt, Pike, H. Butler, and Alex. Stuart. The Rev. A. Mitchell, formerly Methodist minister stationed in Feilding, and latterly in Auckland, is visiting Feilding with Mrs. Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs Mitchel f are the guests of Mr. and Mrs F. 8. Guy. Mr. A. E. Sandford, manager of the Feilding branch of the Union Bank, has received notice of transfer to the Hamilton branch of the bank, and will leave Feilding in March. Mr. Sandford is president of the Feilding Jockey Club, and has occupied many public positions during his ten years’ residence in Feilding. He has been particularly prominent in cricket affairs, and will be greatly missed by all lovers of sport.
