Frankenstein left the orchestra pit at the Orpheus Theatre after thirty-one years of fiddling and wielding the baton, he climbed right up on the screen aud landed in “The Broadway Melody,” the spectacular Metro-Goldwyn-Maver all-talking, all-singing, and alldancing motion’ picture sensation, which will be shown at the De Luxe Theatre, Levin, next Monday, Tuesday, and M ednesday. This veteran Los Angeles orchestra leader will be seen and heard playing the violin that made him a famous character in the theatre world of Southland. Anita Page aud Bessie Love share the feminine honours in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s first 100 per cent, talkie special, and Charles King, stage idol of “Present Arms” and Hit the Deck fame, is the leading man. Huge tcchnicolour scenes of a gorgeous stage revue nre included in the feature. Ihe De Luxe Theatre, Levin, in which this picture will be screened, is equipped with the latest Western-Electric talkie equip- - ment, the only plant of this manufacture in the Manawatu aud Horowhenua districts. the theatre itself is of modern structure, and can accommodate over 1000 patrons in comfortable tip-up seats.
