TRAPPED IN MINE X By Telegraph.—Press Association, Oamaru, January 24. The accident which occurred in a coa! mine on Dr. D. G. Matheson’s property at Kurow yesterday afternoon proved fatal. Mrs. Matheson took refreshments to the miners, and then entered about a chain into the shaft of the mine. A fall occurred. A miner went to the Waitaki hydroworks for help, and one hundred men assisted in the rescue work. This had progressed a short distance when another fail occurred.

Mrs. Matheson’s body was recovered at 6 o’clock this morning.
