A SUDDEN END
DRIVER’S ERRATIC COURSE. “The car came down the street on the wrong side and finished up by crashing into a post,” said Richard Bannister, who gave evidence in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday against John MacPherson, who was charged with being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car in Tory Street on January 8, also with driving negligently and without a license. Witness said that the occurence was shortly after midnight. Defendant was driving and there were two other men in the car. They did not appear to be sober. There were two bottles of beer on the floor of the car. Defendant contended that on the night concerned he had only five long beers. The car had skidded over to the wrong side of the road. Further police evidence was heard. “I nm satisfied you were not fit to drive a car that night,” said Mr. E. Page, S.M. Defendant was fined £lO, with costs, and was prohibited from driving a car for twelve months.
