While plaintiff in a Haim for overtime heard in the Christchurch Magistrate’s Court was giving evidence, he stated that he received 2/6 a day in addition to his ordiriary wages. “What was that for?” asked Mr. K. T. Bailey (Inspector of Awards). “It was beer money,” replied . plaintiff.. ’ “It may not have been all for beer, but it was spent in hotels.” . •
