MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE

THE MAYOR TO ATTEND.

This year the Municipal Association of New Zealand is to hold its annual conference in Invercargill, the Mayor of that city being the president for the year. Wellington will be represented by the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup).

The conference will commence on March 5 and will probably extend over three days. It was intended that Councillor M. F. Luckie (senior councillor), Mr. J. O’Shea (solicitor to the Municipal Association), au<l slr. E. P. Norman (town elerC) would also attend the conference, but the matter of their presence is made a little uncertain at present owing to the date of tthe arrival of the new Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) following‘hard upon the dose of the conference. If the dates do not approximate, the Mayor and Mrs. Troup may pay a brief visit to the southern lakes.
