WRECK OF THE MANUKA
Sir, —1 am surprised that the Press did not publish a full list of names of the passengers and crew of the wrecked s.s. Manuka at Long Point. It would have saved relatives many anxious hours and inquiries. lam also surprised that no mention was made of the splendid work done by Mj's. Westbury (stewardess) and the stewards of the second class passengers, who got every passenger fully dressed and lifebelts on and their-handbags, and got them singing around the piano while the boats were being launched. We were fortunate 1 that it was a fine night, with good visibility," and we had little difficulty in keeping well out from the land till daylight, when we landed safely and dry, and found many of the firstclass passengers less fortunate, having left the ship in their night attire. We cannot express our gratitude to all those kind people from Long Point to Dunedin who took part ip the many, kindnesses meted out to us.—l am, etc.. SECOND-CLASS PASSENGER.
