HUTT RIVER BOARD
ELECTION NOMINATIONS Nominations for the election of five members to the Hutt River Board closed on January 2 with the clerk of the board, Mr. A. J. Gearing. They are as follow: —Messrs. A. R. Barnes, G. A. Chapman, Cecil Gostelow, F. S. Hewer, George Hooper, H. E. Leighton, John Mitchell, A. J. Nicholls, V. A. Noble, T. E. Sheil, and W. H. Smith. The nomination of Mr. E. Hogg was also received, but was informal on account of Mr. Hogg not being a ratepayer. The election will take place on Tuesday, January 14, and the returning officer is Mr. Gearing.
