PROVINCIAL ITEMS
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sinclair, of Alan Street, Palmerston North, accompanied by their family, are spending a holiday at Rotorua. Mrs. M. Day, of Pahiatua, is visiting Auckland. Miss Marton, of Featherston, is visiting Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. 11. B. Free, of Lydnhurst Street, Palmerston North, accompanied by their family, have left on a motoring and camping tour of the Auckland district. Mr. and Mrs. Henderson and family, of Palmerston North, are spending a holiday in Christchurch. Mrs. Frank Yercx, of Auckland, accompanied by her sister, Miss Nora Kingdon, have been visiting Palmerston North on their way to Wellington, where they will make their future home. Mr. and Mrs. Beresford Hamilton, of College Street, Palmerston North, are at present away on holiday. Misses Evelyn and Kathleen O’Brien, of Wellington, have been spending a few days in Palmerston North. Mrs. J. H. Baker, of Oakwood, Australia, is spending a holiday with her brother, Mr. W. J. Crawford, and Mrs. Crawford, of Shamrock Street, Palmerston North.
The many friends of Mrs. J. A. McLeavey, of Whakarongo, will be sorry to hear that she met with a painful accident on Saturday evening, which occured near the gasworks at Terrace End at about 5.30 o’clock. ’Walking on the edge of the road, Mrs. McLeavey was proceeding up the hill to the Napier Road crossing when a car came round the bend. Mrs. McLeavey jumped-to avoid being struck, but het- foot was. caught and the shoe was torn off. Her foot was badly injured and an X-ray examination was necessary to determine the full nature of the injuries. ’ _ . Mrs. J. Chapman and Miss Chapman, ■Wanganui East, are the guests of Mrs. G. G. Littlejohn, Wellington. Miss Dorothy Rowe, Wanganui, left last week for Sydney, where she intends continuing her musical studies under Madame Betts-Vincent. Miss Dnbinctt, Wanganui, left last week for a year’s tour of the world. Mrs’. R. Lilburn .and family. Wanganui, are spending the holidays at Titahi Bay. Mrs. D. Stewart, Wanganui, and Miss Jenkins, Dundein, arc visiting New Plymouth. _ . „ Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harrison. Wanganui. have returned from New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Prouse.
