In the early hours of yesterday morning a fire which might have been attended with far more serious results than it actually was occurred at the service station at the foot of Taraimki street. By some means or oilier, benzine lying on tlie ground in the ear runway became ignited, and n sheet of flame rose suddenly to a height of two or three feet. Tlie Fire Brigade was immediately summoned, but chemical extinguishers had the blaze well under control by the time the engine arrived.
