OBITUARY
PASTOR M. CHRISTENSEN Palmerston North, December 30. The death occurred on .Saturday of Pastor Mads Uhristeiiseu, for 35 years minister of the Lutheran Church, Palmerston North. Although his health had been indifferent for several months, the late gentleman’s end was sudden, a heart seizure carrying him off. The late Pastor was highly respected by members of the Danish community and all who came into contact with him as an earnest Christian gentleman. Pastor Christensen was born at Egva'rd, Denmark, 73 years ago, and first came to New Zealand in 1886. After serving in Mauriceville (Wairarapa) for eight years, he came to Palmerston North, where be has lived and worked ever since. He was married twice and a large family survives him. The children by his first wife (nee Miss Caroline Larsen) are Miss W. Jensen (Levin), Mrs. F. F. Legarth (North Auckland), Mr. J. Christensen (North Auckland)’ and Mr. H. Christensen (Taihape). His second wife was Miss Hedvig Larson, and the children are Mrs. J. Spencer (Lower Hutt), Miss A. Burmeister (Tnikorea), Misses M. and L. Christensen (Palmerston North), Messrs V., H., and D. Christensen (Palmerston North), and the present pastor, Rev. A. Christensen.
