OBITUARY
DR. CARVER KILLED (Rec. December 30, 9.30 p.m.) New York, December 30. A message from Dallas, Texas, states that Dr. Jonathan Carver, the noted British geologist, was killed in a motorcar collision. Representing the British Museum, ho had been digging Indian ruins in Arizona for several months. He was en route to London with specimens when death overtook him. INVENTOR OF WAR .. HELMET (Rec. December 30, 7.50 p.m.) London, December 30. The death is announced of Alfred Bates, art-metal worker and Inventor of the steel helmet, which the British troops wore in war-time.
