BOY KILLED

| FALL FROM TRAIN ACCIDENT NEAR PAEKAKARIKI A fatality occurred near Paekakariki yesterday when Morris Howell, aged 14, of 20 Reuben Aveuue, Brooklyn, fell from a railway carriage of a tram bound for Levin, sustaining injuries from which he died shortly afterwards. Deceased was one of a large party travelling by train to Levin on a picnic excursion organised by the Rev. T. Fielden Taylor. When the train was nearing Paekakariki, deceased in some way fell from the carriage. The fall wasi noticed, and the train was promptly stopped, Howell being placed on board and taken to Ptuekakariki. where lie was attended to by the district nurse. A doctor was summoned, but on arrival could only pronounce life extinct. An inquest will be held.
