THE CABINET RESHUFFLE
Sir —Tile reshuffle of portfolios in the Ward Cabinet is full of interest. The most significant is that taking from the Hon J. B. Donald the portfolio of Post-master-General. The plausible excuse given that the Prime Minister can take up this portfolio without difficulty because he had in years gone by had it, wm deceive very few. The illness of the Prime Minister is such that what has really happened is that he will be nominally Postmaster-General, but in reality the head of the Department will run the show. Mr. Donald is pushed into the backwater of Industry and Commerce, and it will be interesting to see whether he endures this. - Mr. Sidey will fill the position of Minister of Justice well, but the House in session will probably not tolerate a member of the Upper House holding this portfolio. Mr. Cobbe has been given Defence. The reshuffle is very clear evidence of the inexperience and incapacity of the present Cabinet, and one wonders how long the people will tolerate the present political farce. —I am, etC ” NOT SEVENTY MILLIONS.
