“Messiah” at Hataitai Methodist Church. To-morrow, at 7 p.m., a special musical service will be held in the Hataitai Methodist Church, when selections from the "Messiah” will be sung by an augmented choir. The soloists will be Mrs. R. S. Allwright" (soprano), Miss Nora Green (contralto), Mr. W. Renshawe (tenor), Mr. J. H. Phillips (bass). Mr. J. N. Duncan will conduct, and Mr. E. Froggatt will be the organist. Petone Church of Christ. The Petone Church of Christ young people held a mock ballot in the schoolroom last Saturday. The following speakers represented the various political parties:—Messrs. A. Liebezeit, W. 8. Lowe, L. Usmar and P. Hobbs. They dealt in a humorous way with the various aspects of the political situation, creating much amusement among those present. At the conclusion of the speeches and after the “candidates” had replied to questions, a ballot was taken, resulting in Mr. A.
