PRIMARY SCHOOLS CLOSE
GRANTS FOR ADDITIONS None look forward with greater pleasure to the annual summer vacation than the children in the primary schools, and yesterday some 27,000 juveniles under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Educatior Board received their release from school aiad homework. They will reassemble on Monday, February 3. School concerts were fairly generally given, while at Northland, the school break-up was celebrated by a fancy dress dance on Thursday night. The Education Board offices will close to-day. and will reopen on Monday, January 13. The executive of the ooard met yesterday. when it was reported that grants had been approved for the addition of two rooms at Paraparaumu. for a school of two rooms at Hapn' Valley, and for additional conveniences at various schools. A number of contracts have been entered into for school overhaul during the holiday.
