ARRIVAL NEXT FRIDAY Tb« New Zealand Shipping Company, Ltd., yesterday received a radio message from the Rlmutaka reporting that she expected to arrive at Wellington during the forenoon of Friday next. December 27. The Rlmutaka left Southampton on November 15 for Wellington, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton and New Plymouth. ’ THE RUAHINE. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahlne arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from Timaru, and berthed at the King’s Wharf to put out the remainder of her London cargo. The vessel is to commence loading at Wellington, and will leave here on December 31 to load at Tokomaru Bay, Auckland, and Napier. She is now timed to sail finally from Napier on January 15 for Southampton and London, via the Panama Canal route. VALACIA FROM NEW YORK. The C. and D. Line chartered steamer Valacla, which was to leave New York next Saturday for New Zealand ports, will now, according to cabled advice, not leave New York until January 18. She will bring cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton,' and Dunedin. Recent cable messages reported that the Valacia was badly battered in the heavy gales and had her steering gear damaged while crossing the Atlantic on her way to New York. PORT HARDY DELAYED. . The C. and D. Line advise that rain at Auckland has delayed completion of the loading of the Port Hardy at that port. She is now timed to sail from there on Monday afternoon for Halifax and London, via Panama CanaL THE SURREY ARRIVES. At 9.30 o’clock yesterday morning the Federal Company’s steamer Surrey arrived in the stream at Wellington from Melbourne in ballast. The vessel, which is to commence loading at Wellington on December 30 for New. York, Boston, Halifax, and London, will remain in the anchorage for a while. Captain J. G. Almond retains command of the Surrey, and his officers are: Chief, Mr. R. Rees; second, Mr. W. Glassborow; third, Mr. A. Pearce; fourth, Mr. W. Coates; wireless operator, Mr. R. Hunn; chief engineer, Mr. G. Blakelock;. second, Mr. O. Jones; third, Mr. W. Scott; fourth, Mr. H. Musker; fifth, Mr. R. Beattie; sixth, Mr. G. White; seventh, Mr. W. Taylor; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. W. MacLeod ; second, Mr. R. Muirhead; stew-ard-in-cliarge, Mr. J. Jesse. THE NORFOLK’S ITINERARY. The New Zealand Shipping Company report that the Norfolk was to leave Gisborne at 11 o’clock last night for Waikokopu and Wellington. The vessel is due at Wellington on Monday, and will leave here next Saturday for Napier to fill up. The Norfolk’s departure from Napier for London, via Panama Canal, has been postponed till January 4. INVERGORDON DUE MONDAY. With fuel-oil from San Pedro, the Union Company's chartered tanker Invergorden has reported that she expects to reach Wellington on Monday. DURENDA LEAVES SINGAPORE. Cabled news has been received by the Union Company that the Durenda, from Calcutta, left Singapore on Thursday morning for Sydney, Auckland and Wellington. WAIRUNA DISCHARGING; To continue discharge of her Pacific Coast cargo, the Union Company’s Wairuna will leave Dunedin on Tuesday for New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier and The vessel then returns to Vancouver via Fiji. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain F. W. Collins, of the Oplhi, has been invalided ashore at Wellington and Mr. J. Ritchie has taken command of the vessel temporarily. The Loongana has resumed her running in the Tasmanian ferry service with Captain E. Evans in command. His deck officers are: Chief; Mr. T. A. McPherson: second, Mr. R. Ainsworth; third, Mr. G. M. Coote. Mr. J. B. Gibson is joining the Tofua as second officer relieving Mr. A. W. Pert for holidays. Mr. R. Blampied has been appointed second officer of the Kartigi. Mr. H. Ruegg, second officer of* the Katoa, is on private leave at Auckland. Mr. F. Mowatt, chief engineer of the Otokia. has been granted holiday leave, his place being taken by Mr. R. Gardner. Mr. R. L. Smith has joined the Otokia as second engineer. Mr. A. M. Anstiss and Mr. O. J. Clegg, fourth and fifth engineers of the Tahiti, have come ashore on holiday leave, their places being taken by Mr. J. T. Smith and Sir. J. W. Davies.•
