A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. At a meeting of the board of directors of the Wellington Y.JI.C.A., the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:— President, Mr. W. .1. Mason; vice-presi-dents, Mosers. H. C. South and IS. I’. Bay; hou. treasurer, Mr. M. Morrison; bon. recording secretary, Mr. D. (1. Melvor; chairman of House Committee, Mr. A. G, Ballinger; Finance and Administration Committee, Messrs. W. J. Mason, IL C. South, E. P. Hay, P. E. Pattrice, G. 11. Scott, A. G. Ballinger, M. Morrison. The report of the genera! secretary, Mr. L. J. Greenberg, showed that an all-round programme is being carried out, and that keen interest Is being maintained tn the various activities of the association. To date, the total financial membership stands at 920. In addition, 52 ex-delinquent boys from the Child Welfare Department are catered for by the “Big Brother” movement, and nearly 200 young women nnd girls use the gymnasium regularly for physical culture. A life-saving class has just been started. A lively Interest in the work of the boys’ division manifested II self at the recent father and son banquet, at which over 200 fathers and sons were present, For the older members the Optimists’ Club and the Literary and Debating Society continue to hold most successful meetings, whilst intimate relations are maintained with the Inter-Bible Class Council recently established in the city. The work of the association was said to be on a very sound basis.
