MASTERTON FIRE BOARD

NEW STATION SITE Mastertoll, December 19. The Masterton Fire Board decided yesterday to purchase a section of land having frontage to Chapel Street and Essex Street, where a new fire station will be erected. This purchase is subject to the consent of the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the board’s acting-secretary was instructed to write for this approval. When erected the new station will face down Jackson Street. Owing to the death of Mr. Richard Brown, the position of secretary to the board became vacant, aud the meeting appointed Mr. H. J. Fairchild to take over the late Mr. Brown’s duties.
