FRUIT AND VEGETABLES WELLINGTON VALUES A keen demand for apples and all new season’s fruits, particularly dessert peaches, is repotted by W. Burbidge and Co., Wellington, who state that vegetables are plentiful, und new-laid eggs are selling well, with a tendency for the price to rise. They quote the following prices current lor the week ended yesterday:— Apples.—Stunners, 11/- to 18/-; Dohertys, 10/- to 15/6; cookers, 10/6 to 13/-; American Jonathans, 22/-; Wiuesaps and Delicious, 23/- per case. Pears.—P. Bary, 10/- to 12/-; Winter Nells, 14/- to 16/-. Lemons.—Local, 18/- to 21/- per bushel ease; Californian, 60/-; Italian, 150’s, 25/-. Oranges.—Califonfan, 37/- per case; grapes, 21/- per barrel. Gooseberries, 3/- to 4/- per half case. Peaches.—Le Vanquier, 5/6 to 6/6; Sneedsd, 6/- to 7/6; Mayflower, 8/- to 12/6 per half case. At the Wanganui sale, Freeman R. Jackson aud Co., Wanganui, bad a better yarding of cattle than of late, with a good sale under- strong competition. The sheep and pig section were of light proportions, aud sold well at late rates. Practically a total clearance was effected at prices quite satisfactory to vendors. At the Eketahuna sale, the New Zealaud Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., offered a fairly good entry of all classes of cattle and one line of sheep.
