MINERS’ LODGES
HOWL DOWN DELEGATES TO CONFERENCE (Rec. December 5, 10.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 5. A couple of miners’ lodges on the Maitland coalfields held meetings to consider the coal settlement terms today. Their delegates to the recent conference were literally howled down and called traitors, the hooting lasting until the meetings broke up. No decision was reached. Further meetings of other lodges' will he held tomorrow and at the week-end.
