“Hops Off” for South Pole.—Commander Richard Byrd, who, it is reported this morning, has hopped off on a flight to the South Pole.
Opening of Auckland’s War Memorial Museum and Dedication of Cenotaph The picture at the left shows a portion of the 12,000 people who attended the official opening by the Governor General of the Auckland war memorial museum and the consecration of the Cenotaph by Archbishop Averill. The portion of the crowd shown in the picture is assembled in the court of Honour around the Cenotaph.
