TROTTING

FORBURY PARK MEETING

FIELDS FOR FINAL DAY

(By

"Overcheck.”)

The Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting will be brought to a conclusion today, when another interesting day's sport seems to be assured, very satisfactory acceptances having been received. The programme is as follows:—

SUBURBAN HANDICAP, of 200 sovs.; 3.45 class. One mile and a half. Avoness ..... scr Wab 36

The fact that the Suburban Handicap is a harness event may alter form somewhat. Standby and .Ambition have been penalised 24 and 12 yards respectively, and of this pair the latter is.now preferred. Bonnie Fiile, Combine and Bon Boy did not race on Saturday. The latter is an improving horse, and is endowed with a nice turn of speed. Combine has pace, but when I last saw him racing lie was inclined to break. Great Way was fourth on Thursday, but I consider Wall more than Ills equal. The public may decide in favour of Bon Boy, Wah and Great Way.

ADVANCE HANDICAP, of 200 sovs.; 3.42 class. One mile and a half. Crown Jewel .. scr Suranes ..... 12

In tlie Advance Handicap form seems to point to Kate Logan, Lady Zephyr, Grand Canyon, and Petronius. The first-named ran third to Grand Canyon and Petronius on Thursday, and now meets these horses

on 30 and 24 yards better terms. Strange to say Lady Zephyr, wiio was. fourth on Thursday when in receipt of 12 yards from Kato Logan Is now on the same mark as the latter. Possibly the three that will find most favour will be Kate Logan, Lady Zephyr and Petronius.

The Empire Handicap is a mile saddle race. The bracket Wild Spur and Roddy will probably be the favourite selection. Roddy was second to Dilnon on Thursday. but as the latter won comfortably by six lengths, the handicapper has not been hard on him tn now asking him to concede Roddy only 12 yards. Roddy defeated Morning Sun by eight lengths when in receipt of 12 yards, and should again account for the latter though they now meet on equal terms. Slump is a good saddle horse, and Is partial to heavy going. He did not contest the St. Kilda Handicap on Thursday, and it will cause no surprise to find him fighting out the finish with Return Voyage and Dilnon. Return Voyage was fourth in the last race on Thursday.

In the Brighton Handicap, Petronius, who in the Advance Handicap is set to concede Kate Logan 36 yards, but in this race is same mark, reads well. Dice, who ran second to Sir Guy, has been penalised 12 yards, while Dannv Boy remains on 24 yards. Of the others, Otaio Rose, who was fourth on Thursday, may do best. Preference may be shown for Petronius, Danny Boy, and Dice.

The Forbury Handicap will no doubt find Steel AH, Dalmeny, Real Light, Muriel de Oro and Jean McElwyn in most demand. The first-named was favourite on Thursday and lead into the straight. Dalmeny was fourth, and should be all the better for the race. Real Light and Muriel de Oro did hot contest the President’s Handicap on Thursday. The latter and Jolly Pet will be bracketed if they both start. Trampfast has been penalised 24 yards for winning, and Travis Axworthy 36 yards for running second, which appears a strange method for the handicapper to have adopted. Jean McElwyn remains on 24 yards. She, Real Light and Dalmeny may do best to-day.

The Victoria Handicap, for unhoppled trotters, should provide an interesting contest. Len Wood finished within a length of Dolores on Thursday and as he now meets his conqueror on 24 yards better terms he niay turn the tables this time. Commander Bingen was a rather indifferent third on Thursday, but as ths others shaped even worse than him his form reads the best. New Metford was fourth and she may go better to-day. Commander Bingen, New Metford, and Len Wood may be most prominent at the finish.

The Tainul Handicap finds Cushla d’Or, who was third on Saturday, again on scratch, and yet Nelson de Oro, who was unplaced, is back an additional 12 yards. Haydock, who was second to Lily Harold, is now back 12 yards, but meets Nelson de Oro on the same terms as on Thursday. Baron Bingen, who ran fourth, should be nil the better for the raee. Cushln d’Or, Baron Bingen, nnd Roddy, who did not contest the corresponding event on Thursday, may participate in the division of the prize-money.

The day’s racing will elose with the Recovery Handicap, In which i am Inclined to favour the chances of Omaha, Orphan, and Lady Cello. Here again the handicapping appears rather hard to follow in that Orphan, who won easily by two lengths from Hector’s Owu. has been penalised 12 yards, while the latter, who was defeated when conceding 24 yards, is back on GO yards and Is therefore conceding 36 yards now. The presence of Trampfast. Talent. Wrackler and Jean McElwyn will add interest to the race. Of this quartet the latter may do best.
