WAR RELIEF
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION The Wellington War Relief Association’s Executive Committee met yesterday. Mr. L. O. H. Tripp presided. There were also present Messrs. Alex. Macintosh. C. M. Luke, C. Watson, G. Mitchell. and A. O. Leach. The Applications Committee reported that during the last 28 working days 192 applications had been received, comprising 22 claims from men who had not previously approached the committee. The Emergency Committee dealt with 74 of the applications. The total number of applications received during the period, including those submitted to the Finance Committee, was 195. There had been no alteration in the general activities of the committee, assistance differing widely in description having been given to partially disabled soldiers, to others who were discharged fit and subsequently developed a war disability. to the widowed mothers and widows of soldiers who fell in action. The financial statement for the month showed an excess of income over expenditure of £l7O, the total funds available at the end of October being £22,999.
