DEATH OF MRS. BIGGS
MELBOURNE POLICE PUZZLED Melbourne, November 27. The police are puzzled by the Biggs case, particulars of which were cabled from Auckland after the arrival of the Ulimaroa yesterday. The last seen of Mrs. Biggs was on November 18. Her husband left a -note at the People’s Palace saying: “I am leaving for Auckland to-morrow. You know where to find me.” The police cannot understand how the woman could get to Sydney with only 2/8, which was found in her purse. Mr. Biggs called upon a friend named Miss Martin at West Melbourne, on November 19, saying that he had left his wife doing shopping, adding that they were both leaving for Sydney that afternoon to join the ship. Miss Martin added that. Mrs. Biggs some days before said that she was looking forward to the trip to Sydney and New Zealand. It is understood that Mr. Biggs preached at the Plymouth Brethren Church in West Melbourne before he left.
