GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION THE OFFICIAL LIST A notification of the Government’s recognition of aviation authorities for the purposes of the Local Authorities Empowering (Encouragement of Aviation) Act will be published in to-day’s “Gazette.” As the Minister of Defence (Hon.- T. M. Wiiford) pointed out to a deputation on Tuesday, local authorities will then be empowered to spend money on the encouragement of aviation, even if the aerodrome it is proposed to assist is not in the local authority's particular area. . The following clubs will be gazetted as recognised aviation authorities:— Auckland New Plymouth Hawera Wanganui Hawke’s Bay Wairarapa (Masterton) Wellington Marlborough (Blenheim) Christchurch Mid-Canterbury (Ashburton) Dunedin Otago.
