XTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that A" at a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 14th November, 1929, the following resolution was passed:— The AVellington City Council hereby makes by Special Order the following By-law under and by virtue of and in exercise and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” and its Amendments, “The AVellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1927,” and of all other Acts, powers and authorities enabling it in that behalf. The short title of this By-law is “The Wellington City Amendment (Island Bay Foreshore) By-law No. 6S, 1929.” The object and purport of the By-law are:— 1. To prohibit on an area to be defined by signposts on the beach at Island Bay, and on the foreshore and waters adjoining, fishing, the taking or use of any vessel or boat, the depositing of any fishing-net fish, or part of a fish, and the damage or obstruction of the signposts. 2. To prevent the throwing into, or depositing in the prohibited area. or_of the waters of the sea lying within 700 yards of Taputcranga Island, any fish, animal or bird, or part thereof, or any refuse, rubbish, or bait, or any other injurious or offensive matter whatsoever.
