THE COST IN WELLINGTON When approached yesterday about the price of water supplied to vessels through the Harbour Board, the Mayor (Mr. G. A. Troup) stated that the matter was being very carefully inquired into with a view of seeing if the charges could not be cut down. At the same time the Mayor said that the board’s charges were considerably in advance of what the City Council charged that body tor water ami that even their own figures, as disclosed in their balance-sheet, would indicate Hint a good margin of profit appeared to be made by the board out of the water supplied by the City Corporation. —
