FROM FAR AND NEAR Sale of Stock Exchange Seat. —A New York Stock Exchange seat sold for 350,000 dollars, which is 144,000 below the previous sale Press Assn. Use Wool Campaign.— At a meeting of the International Wool Federation at Bradford next week, representatives of ten nations will discuss the question of intensifying the use of wool all over the world.—Press Assn. Japanese Gold Embargo.—A Press Association message from Tokio says it is officially announced that the gold embargo will be raised on January 11. New Zealand Appeal to Privy Council. —The Privy Council has granted leave to expedite the appeal in the case of the Wanganui Sash and Door Timber Company versus Maunder, says a Press Association message from London. The case will be heard early] in December. Solicitors Struck OfL — The Full Court at Sydney struck off the roll two solicitors adjudged guilty of misappropriation of clients’ money, namely, John Vincent Gallaher and Norman Griffin. The New South Wales Government is preparing legislation to cover this class of offence by providing, for periodical official audits of solicitors’ trust funds. —Press Assn.
Opening of New Wharf.—A new wharf at Tolaga Bay was formally opened by the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Marine, yesterday, before a large assemblage from the surrounding district. The Hon. Sir Apirana Ngata and Mr. K. S. Williams were also present.—Press Assn.
