NEW GOVERNOR OF FIJI

WELCOMED AT SUVA (Rec. November 22, 8.5 p.m.) Suva, November 22. • The new Governor, Sir Murchison Fletcher,' arrived by the Aorangi, and was met by the Acting-Governor (the Hon. A. W. Seymour), members of the Executive Council, and the Mayor, Mr. Marks. He was also met by prominent officials and citizens at the King’s Wharf. Thence he was escorted to the Supreme Court, where he was sworn in by the Chief Justice as Governor of Fiji, and High’ Commissioner of the Western Pacific. A civic reception was afterwards tendered at the Town Hall to Sir Murchison and Lady Fletcher, who created a very favourable first impression.
