A peculiar specimen of fruit was discovered by an Invercargill resident the other day among some bananas bought at a local fruit shop. While the external appearance was exactly similar to the rest of the purchase, the pulp of this particular banana was a distinct orange colour and although its smell was similar to the other bananas, it was quite tasteless. Needless to state, the purchaser did not eat the whole fruit to ascertain its effect on his digestive system.
