SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Sunday School Union was held on Thursday evening. Mr. W. E. Howe (president) was in the chair.and there was a good attendance of delegates. The president made feeling .reference to the death of Mr. Randall Huffam who, up to the time of his being laid aside by illness, had been a most,: valued, member of the committee and could always be relied on to carry out cheerfully and energetically any. task asked pf him. The members stood in-silence for a few moments. It was announced-that one of : the extension schools. bad sent, the sum of £2 to help the Extension .work,; and one of-the city schools had sent thirty shillings for the same purpose. The secretary reported that correspondence was still being conducted with the Blenheim friends in regard to next year’s convention, but that local difficulties might make it impossible for them to invite the union to go there next Easter. Votes of thanks were accorded to - Mr. aud Mrs. Howe and the secretary for their work in connection with the late “rally.” It was decided to send a letter to St. David’s School, Petone, congratulating them on the fine attendance of their scholars at the rally, practices and at the rally. .
