CHRISTCHURCH BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL
OLD BOYS’ REUNION There was a good attendance at the reunion of members of the Wellington branch of the Christchurch Boys' High School Old Boys’ Association, which was held in tlfe'Ritz social room on Saturday night. Mr. E. T. Norris was in the chair, and the principal guest of the evening was the Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, himself an “old boy” of the school and a contemporary of the chairman. ‘ Feeling reference was made to the deaths of Dr. Charles Chilton, and of Mr. T W. Kane, who was for sixteen years a master at the Boys’ High School. At the annual meeting Mr. E. T. Norris was elected president of the branch and Mr. A. K. Gray, secretary, Mr. M. O. Barnett being re-elected treasurer. The following were elected as the executive committee:—Messrs. M. Barnett, O. Gillespie, C. Monro, L. H. Wood, and — Oliver. The Hon. G. W. Forbes, in an interesting address, referred appreciatively to his associations with the Christchurch Boys’ High School, and his pleasure at meeting old boys. During the evening musical items were contributed by Messrs. O. GiUesuie and C. Monro.
